Peanut Butter Yo Yos from Quilt Doodle Doodles...

This has been a Christmas favorite since my college days. I have loved these cookies since my friend, Dwight, gave me a plate of these for Christmas. I begged him for his mom's recipe, and he laughed that there's no recipe, she just makes them. They are super good and easy to make. My boys used to help me make them when they were little, and Christmas isn't complete without these yummy yo-yo's. All you need is a box of Ritz crackers, peanut butter and almond bark. I like to use the vanilla bark when I ...

Christmas Memories from Quilt Doodle Doodles...

I have been lacking Christmas spirit this year which is a mystery to me! So, while trying to find it I decided to make some cookies I remember from my childhood. We all have those recipes that bring us back to our childhood and the magic of Christmas. My grandma's Coconut Macaroons are one of those recipes. I haven't had them since my grandma passed away so many years ago. I found this recipe in one of my family recipe binders, the one I got as a shower gift when I was a young bride. It's such ...

2020 Virtual Cookie Exchange Blog Hop from Stitchin at Home

This is day 3 of the Virtual Cookie Exchange and Christmas Blog Hop, hosted by Carol at Just Let Me Quilt

What better time than Christmas to share a sweet treat, even if we can't all be together this year, we can always pop some cookies in the mail and share the joy of giving that makes Christmas so merry! Christmas is definitely going to be different for me. Normally I am a Christmas nut but with the loss of my hubby and not being able to have Christmas with all my children and grandchildren this year I am ...

Finishing up Christmas from Stitchin at Home

I had a couple things to finish up for Christmas.

Shortbread cookies done! Some have coloured sugar and others have sprinkles
I haven't found a cookie press I like yet, tried one took it back. The next best thing is to roll them out and use a cookie cutter. The recipe is the one in my Virtual Cookie Exchange, you can find it here.

14 straw sleeves. The labels have their names and what they are as there will be someone who has no idea what they are
This one started out simple enough, my oldest grandson wanted a ...

Virtual Cookie Exchange from Stitchin at Home

Carol of Just Let Me Quilt is hosting the Virtual Cookie Exchange for which we are to share a Christmas cookie recipe, tradition, and/or quilt.

My favourite cookies are shortbreads and not just for Christmas but anytime of the year. I make whipped shortbreads and use a cookie press.
I know you're looking for a photo of a plate of some tasty looking cookies I would show you however my cookie press is broken. My daughter borrowed it and the tube broke down the seam, I have had it for more than 30 years, so I guess it ...
